On 8 May 2026, CHA invited its members to an informal discussion with Julian Zakrzewski on humanitarian action in the occupied territories of Ukraine and humanitarian principles.
CHA Research Fellow Goda Milašiūtė discussed questions such as:
What is the humanitarian situation in the occupied territories of Ukraine?
What particular challenges do aid organisations face?
What new insights does a recent study on the use of humanitarian principles in Ukraine provide?
Julian Zakrzewski has been Country Director for DRC in Ukraine since October 2022.
He has been working in humanitarian response for almost 15 years, most recently as Country Director in Sudan, Yemen and Nigeria.
