Jonas Schaaf is a Research Fellow at the Centre for Humanitarian Action (CHA). The main focus of his work is on CHA‘s project “Aid Antagonists and Strategic Capacities of German Aid Organisations”.
His career path to the CHA included a Research Fellow at the Peace Research Institute Frankfurt (PRIF), where he focused on the inclusion of civil society actors in African regional interventions. Prior to this, he completed the postgraduate programme “International Cooperation for Sustainable Development” at the Department of Rural Development at Humboldt University in Berlin.
Jonas holds a Master of Science in Geography from Justus Liebig University Giessen, specialising in geographical development research and geographical conflict research.
Jonas has gained international field research and project experience in Mali, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Tunisia, South Africa, Belgium, Iran and the South Caucasus.
He speaks German, English and some French.
