Together with the umbrella organisation of development and humanitarian aid NGOs in Germany (VENRO), the Centre for Humanitarian Action (CHA) cordially invites to its third roundtable event on the Humanitarian-Development-Peace Nexus:

“The Triple Nexus – a donor-driven agenda?”

The so-called Triple Nexus is often perceived as a donor-driven dynamic. Therefore, after The Nexus in Practice and Contested Spaces for the Triple Nexus: Examples from Mali, we want to address the role of donors and donor governments in shaping the Triple Nexus discussion and practices. The roundtable event will gather representatives from key organisations to unpack advantages, challenges and practical consequences of an intensified engagement with the Triple Nexus, especially vis-à-vis German and EU donor governments.

We are delighted to use this opportunity to welcome the European NGO umbrella organisation Voluntary Organisations in Cooperation in Emergencies (VOICE) to present their new study NGO Perspectives on the EU’s Humanitarian-Development-Peace Nexus.

Invited speakers:

  • Celia Cranfield (Senior Advocacy Officer, VOICE)
  • Bodo von Borries (Head of Division, Humanitarian Aid, VENRO)
  • Wolfgang Bindseil (Head of Division, Implementation of Humanitarian Assistance, Federal Foreign Office)
  • Dr. Ralf Schröder (Head of Division, Transitional Development Assistance, Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development)

The inputs will be followed by an overall discussion and a small reception.

The event will be held in German and English. We are very much looking forward to welcome you.

Please register for the event here.
