CHA wins tender concerning Triple Nexus evaluation

In early summer, CHA took part in a call for tenders and was commissioned to evaluate Welthungerhilfe’s engagement concerning the Triple Nexus (Humanitarian-Development-Peace Nexus). To date, the German NGO Welthungerhilfe (WHH) has been particularly active in the Dual Nexus of humanitarian aid and development cooperation. WHH had invited tenders for an evaluation of the impact the Triple Nexus could have on its work and its principles, and whether the organization should also engage in peace issues and peacebuilding programs or enter into partnerships with peace actors in the future.

The evaluation will last until the end of 2019 and includes research in three relevant countries: Mali, South Sudan and Pakistan. “We are very pleased about this cooperation and the great commitment of Welthungerhilfe in this field” says CHA Director Ralf Südhoff.

“Numerous German and international NGOs are asking themselves very similar questions, which the WHH is now addressing in a conceptual and transparent way. Welthungerhilfe could decisively advance the German Nexus debate with this project.”

At the same time, the project fits into the CHA research project “Nexus in Practice”. As part of the project, CHA will produce further case studies on the practical implementation and challenges of the Triple Nexus in relevant countries and hopes to enrich the often more abstract and theoretical Nexus discussion.
