Abstract
The international humanitarian system includes aid for people who are in a humanitarian emergency due to disasters or crises. The increasing number and duration of crises as well as the politicisation of aid pose major challenges to the system and its actors.
This paper is a reprint and was first publish in the journal Aus Politik und Zeitgeschichte (APuZ) in March 2021. The entire issue of APuZ 10-11/2021 can be accessed here.
